One of the many pathways to wellness offered at Birchtree is Art Therapy, but for people who haven’t seen art therapy in action, the concepts can be confusing.
Below is a Ted Talk by US Art Therapist, Cathy Malchiodi, who has been leading the way in her research on art therapy/trauma and neurobiology.
This a great introductory 20 minute talk where she discusses what art therapy is and is not, and the significance of the use of the expressive therapies in the treatment of trauma symptoms and processing and integration through art for both adults and children.
