Tools to enhance your Therapy Journey (DBT for adults)
An 8-week DBT informed psycho-educational group.
This will be a small group of approximately 12 people.
This group will have a focus on managing day to day personal experiences in the present moment. By understanding our biology and developing skills to be more consciously aware of our experiences as they happen, it is possible to become the driver, rather than the passenger, of our experiences.
Nobody likes feeling out of control. Learn practical skills to be able to self-regulate during uncomfortable emotional experiences, survive a crisis without making things worse, and learn simple strategies to seek safe interpersonal connection – activating your Ventral Vagal nerve, promoting safe social engagement. Together we will explore the importance of body language, tone of voice, eye contact within your relationships. These skills will help you in your day to day life, as well as support your therapy journey.
DBT Life Hacks for teens.
This is an 8-week program offering practical skills from DBT to young people between the ages of 14 to 18.
These skills can significantly help with:
- Feel a greater sense of self-control
- managing big, overwhelming emotions
- learning distress tolerance
- improving relationships.
No-one likes feeling out of out of control, battling with negative thoughts and impulsive behaviours or being in conflict with others.
Learning a mindfulness-based approach to increasing self-awareness along with practical skills can help create a greater sense of mastery in managing ourselves and our relationships.
