Birchtree Foundation - Project Coordinator & Research Officer
Sophie has been a friendly face behind the scenes at Birchtree since January 2025, keeping the centre running smoothly alongside her fellow administrative teammembers.
Sophie is a fourth-year psychology student with her sights set on pursuing a career in health administration. When she’s not working at Birchtree, Sophie is an avid reader, sports enthusiast, keen-traveller, and proud volunteer with our Empowered Self-Defence Program within the Birchtree Foundation – where she also works her magic on marketing and advertising materials. An old soul at heart, Sophie loves music, books, her English Staffie, and spending time with friends and family.
Experiences in people-focused roles have shaped her into the ultimate multitasker, blending warmth and efficiency in everything she does.
Phoenix Wainwright has been a dynamic and reliable presence since joining the team, bringing a calm confidence and thoughtful approach to everything he does.
Currently a third-year psychology student, Phoenix is pursuing a career in management consulting, where he hopes to blend analytical thinking with his strong interest in human behaviour and organisational performance. Outside of his studies and work, he’s committed to fitness and nutrition, is an enthusiastic music lover, and plays the drums. He also loves spending time at the beach, where he recharges and finds inspiration.
With experience in people-focused roles and a natural drive for growth, Phoenix brings a blend of curiosity, professionalism, and steady energy to every environment he steps into.
Sarah joined the administrative team at Birchtree in November 2025. She admires the committed members of her team and volunteers for Birchtree’s Empowered Self-Defence program.
When she is away from the office, Sarah dedicates her time to the beach. In an ideal world, she makes it to the beach for a quick swim after every workday. It is here where she honours her beginnings as a swim coach where she passionately taught young children to trust their confidence in water.
Currently, Sarah is a fourth-year Law and Communications student at the University of Technology Sydney. At university, she gained strong analytical skills and a commitment to environmental and social justice.
Darrel has been part of the Birchtree administrative team since March 2025, supporting the team and helping the practice run smoothly.
Currently in his third year of a Bachelor of Applied Social Science, majoring in Counselling at Alphacrucis University College, Darrel is passionate about understanding people and hopes to bring a trauma-informed lens to all aspects of his work.
When he’s not at the centre, Darrel can be found brewing a good cup of coffee, reading or going for a long-distance run. These simple passions keep him grounded and energised.
A natural organiser with a thoughtful, people-centred approach, Darrel brings a blend of calm and care to everything he does.
