Trauma and Boundaries for Clients: Recording

Boundaries can be covered by the simple question – “What is and isn’t okay with me?” Most people find them emotionally complex to grapple with! Boundaries provide the foundation for every relationship, including the relationship with ourselves. Think of them like retaining walls that protect you – without having them confidently in place, everything else might seem wobbly and insecure.   Boundaries help to define what makes you You! Through your boundaries you can communicate who you are and what you stand for. In simple language, boundaries are the way you keep yourself safe and protected.

How it will help

Experiences of trauma involve your boundaries being ignored, transgressed, or violated. It can be understandably hard to identify, establish and respect your own boundaries following trauma. In this Webinar you will learn how to establish reasonable limits and be provided with strategies to set and maintain healthy boundaries.

What you will learn

This online Webinar will explore the topic of boundaries focusing on key aspects including:

  • Defining what we mean by ‘boundaries’ – embracing the power of saying ‘No’ and setting limits, and the significance of saying ‘Yes!’ in reaching out.
  • Identifying different types of boundaries and how they can be disrespected by others or oneself.
  • Understanding somatic cues that signal when a boundary has been crossed —recognising these cues through sensations, emotions, and intuition.
  • Exploring the spectrum of boundary holding, from rigidly defined boundaries to excessively porous ones.
  • Identifying messages and myths about boundaries that you have received from society, family and peers.
  • Equipping you with effective strategies to establish and maintain healthy boundaries.
