The Birchtree Centre is currently seeking clinical psychology graduates interested in expanding their knowledge and confidence in working with complex trauma.
The Clinical Registrar Program is offered at 2 days per week, with one day being a Saturday. All referrals will be provided by the centre. Registrars will be supervised in the provision of treatment for complex trauma, addictions and eating disorders.
Supervisors
All registrars will be supervised by one of the co-directors of Birchtree Centre of Excellence: Jace Cannon-Brookes and Dr Sophie Reid.
Professional Development Offered in the Program
Registrars will also be offered attendance at the five Masterclasses offered throughout the year.
Registrars are able to assist with the Survivor Workshops and the Family and Friends workshops offered in the twelve months from commencing their position.
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience working with developmental trauma, eating disorders, domestic violence, addictions, adolescents.
Responsibilities:
Administration of the clinician’s own practice software, client bookings and schedules, adherence to Medicare requirements, and payment schedules
Assessment and management of client attending for psychological intervention
Provision of evidence based clinical psychology intervention in the treatment of client mental health difficulties
Attendance at team meetings, master classes and training days
Attendance at fortnightly supervision
Ongoing Professional Development as per AHRPA requirements

At Birchtree, there are a number of Clinicians who are approved by AHPRA as Clinical Supervisors of Clinical Registrars.
Supervision can be provided both to Registrars who are accepted to work at Birchtree as well as to those employed in other locations.
